It has been a while since PlayStation 5 was confirmed last April. Sony showed off the load times of PlayStation 5. In October 2019, Sony confirmed the Next Generation console as PlayStation 5. Sony’s also been hyping up 3D Audio, and hardware-based Ray-Tracing in small doses. Tech Specs were revealed in a Livestream hosted by Sony. PlayStation 5’s controller was revealed. Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal was delayed, but we know now how it looks. Sony then revealed the Box Art design for PlayStation 5 games. Geoff Keighley got hands-on with the PlayStation 5 controller. PlayStation 5 advertisements have been ramping up lately. On September 8, 2020 – Microsoft was forced to announce the Xbox Series S pricing. A day later, Microsoft announced Xbox Series X’s price point, and release date. On September 12th, Sony announced a “Launch Event” scheduled for September 16th. Sony just wrapped up that Launch Event Livestream today.
Today, we’re going to take a deeper dive into the games that were revealed during the PlayStation Launch Event on September 16th. Some of them are launch titles, some of them are launch window titles, and some of them have dates that go outside of the Holiday 2020 window. Sony also announced “PlayStation Plus Collection,” at first I was confused as to what it was, but I learned what it is. You know how you receive 2-3 [free] games a month? PlayStation Plus Collection is that. Xbox owners have Games with Gold for that particular month, and PSPlus Collection seems to be a competitor to that.
At this point, Sony climaxes the teasing, and reveals the PlayStation 5’s and PlayStation 5 Digital Edition’s Prices, Release Dates. Sony closed out the Launch Event with a tease of a new God of War game, which if you played 2018’s God of War and finished it, you’d know they’re going towards Ragnarok.
